Need Feedback Please. Is Our Senior Developer a Hacker? Part 1

Our Senior Developer has been with the company for a long time and our billing systems seem to be glitching lately. Our new developer looked a the code and thinks it should be destroyed and rebuilt. Can the experts here give me some insight? We use classic ASP because it was his choice. This file builds a list like this. It is usually about 300 lines long. He also built the database for this which doesn’t look right. Spin Lock in Peterson’s Algorithm

#define n 2 #define True 1 #define false 0 int interested[n]=False int turn; void entry_section(int process) { int other; other=1-process; interested[process]=TRUE; Turn=Process; ________________________________________ 1 while(interested[other]==True && turn== process); //ENTERS CS// void exit_section(int process) { interested[process]=False; } now say we are having 2 process P0 and P1. Say P0 gets preempted after executing turn=process and then P1 comes in and executes the entry_section, when P1 reaches the while condition it will find the while condition to be true and will wait, and this should result in spin lock.. But it is given everywhere that deadlock and spin lock can never occur in Peterson’s Algo.. So please guide me where i went wrong? Spin Lock in Peterso...

jenssegers/laravel-mongodb’s where() and raw() produces different result for same query

I am using jessengers/laravel-mongodb in one of my project. I would like to use raw mongodb query rather than the other functions in jessengers library. when i write a simple query using raw() to get two field values from database, it returns the complete document. So i tried with where() function, the cursor shows the requested fields only. I am afraid why the same query shows two different results… Here is the query with where() function: $articleDataArray = Article::where('art_xml_data.article.article_id', '=', $articleId) ->get(['art_status', 'art_file_path']); This query returns a cursor having art_status and art_file_path values only. But the below query when written in raw() returns the complete fields in the matched document. $articleDataArray = Article::raw()->find( ar...

Qt QML How to manually select word in TextArea

double click selects words, but i’d like to customise it to, for example, select the $1000 term. Example: import QtQuick 2.7 import QtQuick.Controls 1.4 ApplicationWindow { visible: true width: 640 height: 480 TextArea { anchors.fill: parent text: "hello, try to select the $1000 prize!" font.pointSize: 14 } } For example, by somehow overriding selectWord or by overriding onDoubleClicked or by somehow adding my own MouseArea that doesn’t break the existing TextArea functionality. Not sure how to do this. Thanks for any help. Qt QML How to manually select word in TextArea Qt QML How to manually select word in TextArea test {$excerpt:n}

Localise pandas timestamps with no DST transistion

I’m trying to import CSV data from a file produced by a device which has a system clock which is set to 'Australia/Adelaide' time, but doesn’t switch from standard to daylight time in summer. I can import it no problem as tz-naive but I need to correlate it with data which is tz-aware. The following is incorrect as it assumes the data transitions to summer time on ‘2017-10-01’ consumption = pd.read_csv('~/dev/datasets/data.csv', parse_dates=['timestamp'], index_col=['timestamp']) consumption.index.tz_localize('Australia/Adelaide') tz_localize contains a number of arguments to deal with ambiguous dates – but I don’t see any way to tell it that the data doesn’t transition at all. Is there a way to specify a “custom” timezone that’s ...

React Native – How to store captured images other folder instead of Pictures folder

I have created a simple app which captured the image and upload to the AWSs3. I want to store those image in my app folder. (I have created this once my app installed).
